Urban Futures, Inc. (UFI) continues to be a leader in public finance management, working with communities in pursuit of clean renewable energy bonds (CREBs) to become more energy- efficient and environmentally friendly.
Created by the Energy Policy Act of 2005, CREBs are a special type of tax credit bond which are used to fund public sector renewable energy projects. Under this federal loan program, government entities, electric cooperatives, and certain lenders can use these low-interest bonds to finance qualified projects. To date, the federal government has allocated $2.4 billion (per energy.gov) for tax credit bonds, which have financed approximately 922 projects since the bill’s enactment in 2006.
James Lee of UFI has recently worked with the Consumnes Community Services District to successfully obtain CREBs for their much needed solar photovoltaic energy system project. Following this accomplishment, the City of Fountain Valley has selected UFI to assist them in securing CREBs for their upcoming energy-efficiency projects.
These bond issuances highlight the versatility of the UFI team, which works with a variety of municipalities for their bond needs. For more information regarding CREB’s, contact James Lee, Principal, at email@example.com or (714) 923-3565.
